Pekudei Exodus 38:21-40:38

These are the numbers of the Mishkan, the Mishkan of the Testimony, which were counted at Moses' command; [this was] the work of the Levites under the direction of Ithamar, the son of Aaron the Kohen.

shoham stones, enclosed in gold settings, engraved [similar to] the engravings of a seal, with the names of the sons of Israel. And he put them upon the shoulder straps of the ephod [as] stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel, as the Lord had commanded Moses. He made the choshen, the work of a master weaver like the work of the ephod, of gold, blue, purple, and crimson wool, and twisted fine linen. they filled into it four rows of stones. One row: odem, pitdah, and bareketh, the one row. And the second row: nofech, sappir, and yahalom. And the third row: leshem, shevo, and achlamah. And the fourth row: tarshish, shoham, and yashpheh; enclosed in gold settings in their fillings. And the stones were for the names of the sons of Israel twelve, corresponding to their names; [similar to] the engravings of a seal, every one according to his name, for the twelve tribes.

Then they brought the Mishkan to Moses, etc.: Because they could not erect it. Since Moses had done no work in the Mishkan, the Holy One, blessed is He, left for him the task of erecting it [the Mishkan], since no human being could erect it [by himself] because of the heaviness of the planks; and no human was strong enough to put them up, but Moses [was able to] put it up.

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: "On the day of the first month, on the first of the month, you shall set up the Mishkan of the Tent of Meeting. There you shall place the Ark of the Testimony, and you shall spread the dividing curtain toward the ark....And so on.

You shall anoint the altar for the burnt offering and all its implements; you shall sanctify the altar; thus the altar will become a holy of holies.
You shall anoint the washstand and its base and sanctify it.
And you shall bring Aaron and his sons near the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, and you shall bathe them in water.
And you shall clothe Aaron with the holy garments, and you shall anoint him and sanctify him so that he may serve Me [as a kohen].
And you shall bring his sons near and clothe them with tunics
And you shall anoint them, as you have anointed their father, so that they may serve Me [as kohanim]. And this shall be so that their anointment shall remain for them an everlasting kehunah throughout their generations."
Thus Moses did; according to all that the Lord had commanded him, so he did.

Ki Tisa Exodus 30:11-34:35

When you take the sum of the children of Israel according to their numbers, let each one give to the Lord an atonement for his soul when they are counted; then there will be no plague among them when they are counted. Do not count them by the head, but each one shall give a half-shekel, and you shall count the shekels. [Thereby] you will know their number. (for the evil eye has power over numbered things, and pestilence comes upon them, as we find in David’s time)

Everyone who goes through the counting, from the age of twenty (no one under twenty years old goes out [to serve] in the army or is counted among men)and upward, shall give an offering to the Lord.

because “an offering to the Lord” is written here three times.

The first [represents] the offering [of silver] for the sockets [of the Mishkan], for he [Moses] counted them when they commenced with the donations for the Mishkan. Everyone gave a half-shekel, amounting to one hundred talents. The sockets were made from this, also the sockets of the dividing curtain]

The second [offering mentioned here] was also [collected] through counting, for he [Moses] counted them after the Mishkan was erected. For this offering] everyone gave a half-shekel, [the total of] which was [earmarked] for the purchase of communal sacrifices for every year. The rich and poor were equal in them [i.e., they gave equally in these two offerings]. Concerning that [second] offering, it is said: “to atone for your souls,” because the sacrifices are brought for the purpose of atonement.

The third one [offering] is the offering for the Mishkan, as it is said: “Whoever set aside an offering of silver or copper” (Exod. 35:24). In this [offering] not everyone gave the same amount, but each one [gave] according to what his heart inspired him to give.

You shall take the silver of the atonements from the children of Israel and use it for the work of the Tent of Meeting; it shall be a remembrance for the children of Israel before the Lord, to atone for your souls.

"And you, take for yourself spices of the finest sort: of pure myrrh, fragrant cinnamon, fragrant cane, cassia, olive oil. Make this into an oil of holy annointment and anoint with it the Tent of Meeting and the Ark of Testimony, anoint Aaron and his sons.

It shall not be poured upon human flesh, and according to its formula you shall not make anything like it. It is holy; it shall be holy to you.

I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
and I have imbued him with the spirit of God, with wisdom, with insight, with knowledge, and with [talent for] all manner of craftsmanship, to do master weaving, to work with gold, with silver, and with copper, with the craft of stones for setting and with the craft of wood, to do every [manner of] work.

And, behold, with him I have placed Oholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, and all the wise hearted into whose hearts I have instilled wisdom, and they shall make everything I have commanded you.

When He had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, stone tablets, written with the finger of God.

Moses said he would be back in 40 days. The Israelites included the day and were one day off and assumed he was dead. Then they melted down the gold to make the Golden Calf. As soon as they had cast it into the fire of the crucible, the sorcerers of the mixed multitude who had gone up with them from Egypt came and made it with sorcery. When Aaron saw: that it was alive, as it is said: “for the likeness of an ox eating grass” and he saw that Satan’s work had succeeded, and he had no words to stall them completely [i.e., to keep the Israelites from worshiping the calf, so then]. He built an altar: to stall them.

Hashem told Moses to go back, the people had sinned. He went down the Mt , saw the golden calf and threw the tablets down and broke them.

Moses went back to Hashem for forgiveness and Hashem agreed but sent a plague to kill the Idolaters. He then Told Moses to take the people towards Israel.

I will send an angel before you, and I will drive out the Canaanites, the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivvites, and the Jebusites.

For on the seventeenth of Tammuz the tablets were broken, and on the eighteenth he burned the calf and judged the sinners, and on the nineteenth he went up [Mount Sinai).

Moses asked how he found favor in Hashems eyes. So He said, "My Presence will go, and I will give you rest.

For how then will it be known that I have found favor in Your eyes, I and Your people? Is it not in that You will go with us? Then I and Your people will be distinguished from every [other] nation on the face of the earth.

One other thing I ask of You [I ask] that Your Shechinah shall no longer rest upon heathen nations. In this respect, we will be separated from every [other] nation, like “And the Lord will make a separation

Tetzaveh - Exodus 27:20-30:10

Eternal flame from mortar crushed olives.

Aaron first Kohen. Garments that they shall make: a choshen (ornament opposite the heart), an ephod, a robe, a tunic of checker work (boxes - similar to holes made in gold jewelry as a setting for precious stones), a cap, and a sash. They shall make holy garments for your brother Aaron and for his sons to serve Me [as kohanim].

The kehunah will be a perpetual statute for them, and you shall invest Aaron and his sons with full authority.

Take [some] of the blood of the bull and apply it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and you shall pour out all the blood upon the base of the altar.
You shall then take all the fat that covers the innards, and the diaphragm with the liver, also the two kidneys and the fat that is upon them, and make them go up in smoke upon the altar

But the flesh of the bull, its hide and its dung you shall burn in fire outside the camp; it is a sin offering. We do not find any [reference to an] “outside” sin offering burnt except this one

slaughter the ram, and you shall take its blood and sprinkle [it] on the altar all around. make the entire ram go up in smoke upon the altar; it is a burnt offering made to the Lord; it is a spirit of satisfaction, a fire offering for the Lord

slaughter the 2nd ram, take [some] of its blood and put it upon the cartilage of Aaron's right ear and upon the cartilage of Aaron's sons' right ears, upon the thumbs of their right hands, and upon the big toes of their right feet, and you shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar all around.

Then take [some] of the blood that is upon the altar and [some] of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron and upon his garments, upon his sons and upon the garments of his sons with him; thus he will become holy along with his garments, and his sons and their garments with him.

The holy garments that are Aaron's shall be for his sons after him, to be exalted through them and invested with full authority through them.

Seven days shall the one of his sons [who will be] the kohen in his place wear them, the one who is to enter the Tent of Meeting to serve in the Holy.
(that kohen who is prepared to enter the inner sanctum on Yom Kippur, and that is the Kohen Gadol, for the service of Yom Kippur is acceptable only through him).

It shall be a continual burnt offering for your generations, at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting before the Lord, where I will arrange meetings with you, to speak to you there.

And more of the laws of sacrifices.
